2017: A Year of Change... 2018: Let's Do This!
It's 2018, how did that happen?? I feel like I was just getting used to saying it was 2017 and now it's over! 2017 was such an amazingly crazy year full of new experiences, adventures, and change... lots of change. As most of you know, my husband and I welcomed our first baby into the world on March 11th last year. Forrest Henry has been absolutely amazing... he has also been part of monumental changes for us. (For two people who value their sleep very highly it has been challenging at times!) One thing that becoming a mother has taught me is to slow down and enjoy the moment as things go by way too quickly.
So, with that said... one of my resolutions for 2018 is to share more moments. Sometimes it's the small moments in a day that are the things that stand out the most. This is true for both my personal and professional life.
Another resolution for this year (as it seems with every year) is to blog more consistently. It always seems like such a simple thing and yet it becomes daunting to keep up with shooting, editing, family and friends... blogging always seems to get pushed to the bottom of the to do list. I am going to attempt to blog at least once a week. Whether it is just to share a moment that stood out to me from the week, a shoot, a wedding, or the a full story of a wedding day. Wednesdays will now be blogging day! (and yes, I do realize it's Friday... so I guess this is a special blog post...)
Today's moment is just one of those things that you can never plan for on a wedding day. As I was prepping the bridal suite before the bride and her maids came to take some photos I noticed that there was a box of Lucky Charms next to the bed. As I was moving them out of the frame one of the bridesmaids said, "Oh, those are Alex's bed snacks." Bed snacks? I thought, well that just sounds like an excellent idea that I might have to implement into my own life. Also, I should get a picture of Alex with her 'bed snacks!' So, when she walked in I told her how I had discovered her stash and that I wanted a photo of her with the box. Somehow it morphed into taking a sequence of photos of her truly enjoying her Lucky Charms!
I hope you enjoy this little moment from Alex and Keith's House on Metolius wedding day.
